2. With potty training on our agenda for the week, I cancelled all therapies and extra-curricular activities. It's amazing all the things you can get done when you stay home all day. Five minutes here and ten minutes there can equal an organized junk drawer, a straightened shoe shelf, and a clean laundry room. My mom would be so proud.
3. As a potty training incentive, I ordered all the pieces to Noah's favorite Dr. Seuss book, "I Wish I Had Duck Feet." Duck feet. Deer horns. A long, long tail. A whale spout, and a long nose. He deserved his prize after having such a great morning today. It was a huge hit. Props to the nice Etsy seller who made the super cute duck feet and shipped them in record time. Check out her shop here.
4. This month in preparation for a school field trip to the zoo, his class has been talking about animals. During his shower tonight, Noah was playing with his animals and singing Old MacDonald. He grabbed his giraffe and sang, "And on this farm he had a giraffe. E-I-E-I-O. With a tall, tall here and a tall, tall there." So cute.
5. Despite the stress of potty training, I have loved spending the week at home with my little man. Today, he grabbed my camera off the counter and wanted me to take a picture. That doesn't happen often and although he didn't quit moving, I sure caught his happy cuteness. I love this sweet boy!

Ok, I have questions. We have started to potty train, but are getting nowhere. We have the books, videos, elmo potty doll, and of course...the big boy potty, but Jack has absolutely no interest.
I've been told to just put underware on him, and he'll start to get it because he'll be uncomfortable when wet. Is that what you guys are doing with Noah?
While I get the logic of it, it seems as if I'll be cleaning up messes all day long, and this pregers mama just can't deal with that at the moment, but if it works, maybe I should just do it. Advice?
I wish I had answers. We did 7 days in underwear, and it still didn't click. Usually I just stayed on him like a hawk, and waited until he looked like he needed to go. Tons of accidents!! Other days I made him drink and then took him to the potty every 20-30 minutes. Way less accidents. I feel like now, there is no turning back, but I had to send him to school Monday, and they said to put him back in Pull-ups. :( So, I've just been working on it at home. The messes aren't as bad as you think. Plus, pee is sterile... at least that what my husband claims. ;) Good luck! How anyone everyone learns to pee on the potty is beyond me!! I can't believe I'm having another one that I have to teach this too.
Haha! I agree! How did we EVER learn how to do this??
I talked to Jack's teachers at school so that we can all be on the same page on this and get the ball rolling. Without being negative, they pretty much told me he isn't ready, but they'll continue to try.
So, we'll keep trying but won't pressure or stress about it. Would have been nice to have him out of diapers before the 2nd arrived though...not counting on Jack being potty trained in 5 months.
The upside...EVERYONE has told me how much easier girls are to train. Your second go-around will be a breeze:)
