I Want Candy!

Happy Halloween! Noah and I took a stroll around the neighborhood to check out all the other trick or treaters and to show off our cowboy costume, of course. Maybe next year we can go for the candy.

Wedding Weekend #2

Noah made his first visit to New Orleans for wedding weekend #2. The weather was beautiful, and we had plans to go to the Riverwalk and the Aquarium, but as our plans usually do, they fell through. We did stroll over to Parrian Chuck’s hotel to wish him luck on his big day.

We also spent some time at Canal Place where Momma did some window shopping, and Daddy and Noah had fun watching the water fountains and elevators go up and down.

Dean and I had a great time catching up with old friends and dancing the night away. Only one more wedding to go... whatever will I post about then?

Happy Birthday to Us

Dean and I share a birthday. Actually, they are a day apart, but they might as well be the same day. Our birthdays usually all blend together into my birthday, but this year was extra special for Dean. He turned the Big 3-0.

I planned a last minute surprise dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Dean was very surprised and so happy to see all his friends. Thanks so much for everyone who came to celebrate with us. Dean said it was the best birthday ever… actually, he said it after I gave him Guitar Heroes for Xbox 360, before we even got to the surprise party. So, I think his birthday moved from best to … bestest! He definitely deserves it.

I had a delicious cake a few weeks ago at a bridal shower for my friend Care, so I wanted to see if I could order one just like it. Well, no one had heard of a “doberge cake,” so I had to just try to make it work. I ordered it from Randall’s bakery, and it was delicious. For anyone interested, it was a yellow cake with chocolate truffle icing and a custard filling with fresh fruit. It was so yummy! I even found a funny childhood picture of Dean in a three piece suit to use for decoration. Adorable!

Speaking of adorable... here is a cute picture of Noah from yesterday. Daddy and Noah are outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Well, off to get packed for wedding weekend #2.

Noah & the Blustery Day

Weather report for today was not good. Cloudy. NW Winds at 24 mph. Mid-50s. It rained most of the morning, but indoors was where we wanted to be anyway. I was busy doing laundry and unpacking from our trip this weekend. By the afternoon, Noah had cabin fever. I think he was spoiled from all the time spent outdoors this past weekend. So, we decided to brave the elements. Don't worry. We didn't stay out long, and Noah was bundled up in his stroller. Every time the wind would blow in his face, Noah would laugh.

Wedding Weekend #1

We are back from our weekend of wedding festivities, and we had a terrifc time. The Horseshoe Bay Marriot Resort was such a great locale for a wedding. The weather was great... sunny and breezy. Daddy got plenty of Noah time, and he had the best time hanging out with Noah. The hotel has beautiful landscaping with lots of walking paths and bridges surrounding gardens and ponds. It was great for Noah because he loves being outdoors, and Daddy spent lots of time strolling him around the grounds. Several times when Noah was with me, someone would stop and say... "What a cute baby. Is he the baby we keep seeing Daddy pushing in the stroller?"

Noah was so good for all the wedding events. He pretty much slept through them all. The wedding itself was so sweet and special, and the bride looked so beautiful and so happy. Here is a picture of Noah congratulating the bride and groom.

Noah also spent some time testing the waters with one of his future girlfriends, Little Miss Madison. Here he is trying to hold her hand.

Just like a guy... here is Noah ignoring Madison, while she smiles and flirts with him.

Snip, Snip

We decided that it was time for Noah to have his very first haircut. The wings and the baby mullet just had to go. It only took a few snips, and it was done. He was so good and enjoyed flirting with all the hairdressers.

This afternoon Noah got a surprise visit from Uncle D. He drove up in his 3/4 ton diesel and Haydel's Charter t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. Awesome!

Noah's Big Adventure

Today Noah had his first play date with his friend Claire. Our destination was the Children's Museum. Talk about an adventure... after a quick stroll through downtown, we boarded the Metro sans ticket, and thus Noah had his first run-in with the law. After a written warning from the officer, we continued on our way to the museum, where we had a blast playing in the "Tot Spot."

Claire is exactly one month older than Noah and is a regular at the museum. She definitely has a few more tricks up her sleeve than Noah. Noah shows Claire how he can roll from his belly to his back... showing off for the girls already.
It wasn't until two crazy sisters dressed in matching outfits decided to attack Noah that he decided he had enough. Claire was on the same page, and they both promptly fell asleep on the way home.
Noah's favorite part of the day... a quick spin in Claire's exersaucer. We definitely are going to need this at home. Thanks to Mrs. Sarah and Claire for the invite and a super fun day. We can't wait until next time.

Ready Or Not... Here It Is.

One weekend down… four more to go. October is here already, and Dean and I have a pretty busy month ahead of us. A few of our best friends are getting married this month, and by a few I mean three. Three weddings, three weekends in a row and all…um, not in Houston. Noah is about to get a crash course in life in the fast lane. We are decidedly laying low the next couple weeks resting up for our big adventures.

Hmm… resting. Interesting choice of words, since rest is definitely not something I have been getting much of lately. Noah was the greatest sleeper. He was sleeping in 5 hours stretches at 4 weeks, and 8 hours by 2.5 months, but all of a sudden he turns 4 months, and he is up all night. For everyone who told me the sleep wouldn’t last, you can now say, “I told you so.” What I want to know now is… when does it come back?

Guess what Noah and I found in the mail today. Daddy's written boards scores. And no suprise, Daddy... you passed! Not only did you pass, but you totally rocked it! We are so proud of you. We knew you could do it.

How Big Is Baby Noah?

How big is Baby Noah? Baby Noah is SO BIG! OK... actually not SO BIG, but definitely not so small. He had his 4 month checkup today, and he is finally above the 25% percentile in weight. Yhea Momma! He measured in the 40% percentile for weight, the 50% for length, and the 10% for head circumference.

He also had to get his second set of vaccinations today. He handled it like a pro. Momma and Daddy decided to join in the fun, and we got our flu shots. FYI, pediatric nurses give the best shots. I didn't feel a thing... maybe smaller needles? Noah was a little cranky this afternoon, but got lots of TLC from both Mommy and Daddy.
