Seriously...

Emma turned five months old today.  And, she is already starting to scoot.  Let me repeat that...  Emma turned five months old today, and she is ALREADY STARTING TO SCOOT.  Do you know what comes next, my friends.  Oh yes, crawling.  Don't you think it's a little early for this Miss Em?

Any idea how many calories you are burning off with all this exercise?

Luckily, she is still working out logistics.

And, she is sure to throw in frequent breaks.

Yesterday, I Was Tired. Today Is Better.

It all started the day of Noah's pumpkin patch field trip. It was cold and windy. And every once in a while a mist of chilly rain would fall. I grabbed our coats as an afterthought. I had Emma layered in a long sleeve shirt and a sweater, white tights and a knit hat. But, the field trip was outside, and I guess the elements proved a bit too much.
Emma started running fever Friday evening and although no other symptoms presented, she was cranky and feverish for the next few nights.

Noah started running fever on Tuesday night. Who would of thought little sis would be the germ spreader. The first night he was sick, Noah woke up at 10:30pm and did not go back to sleep until 4:30 in the morning! And, so it began. Tired. Waking up in the middle if the night. Talking and walking up his sister. And then, Friday when neither he or I could take anymore. He took a nap at 3:30pm and slept until 10:30 at night!

So, instead of a refreshing siesta, that nap catapulted us into a completely out of whack schedule which has somehow ended up with a 4:30 AM wake-up call for the past two days. So, yeah, I'm tired.

And, poor Emma. Perfectly content to snooze the whole night away, must be woken up to eat. A Momma's exhaustion coupled with a baby girl who needs a few extra calories has really not been a good combo. Since, I'm ready to crash pretty early.

But, last night I closed my eyes closer to 9:00 PM and Dean stayed awake to get me up at midnight to feed Emma and Noah slept until 5:30, so dare I say... I'm feeling a little fresh today. Happy Wednesday!

Keep Calm

I never tire of the various evolutions of the phrase "keep calm and carry on." It's kind of my mantra, and now I have a new favorite.

Not sure how calm these guys were during overtime.

How to Trick or Treat (in Five Easy Steps)

There was a lot of trick or treat practicing going on at school leading up to Halloween.  Noah's teacher broke it down in five easy steps.  Step 1:  Put on your costume. Step 2: Knock on the door.  Step 3:  Say "trick or treat."  Step 4: Get candy.  Step 5: Say "thank you."  These kids were carrying around cards all week reminding them of these five easy steps.  Seems like something so simple, but to a kid on the spectrum, sometimes something as simple as Halloween can be a bit challenging.  Last year, I was amazed that the teachers were able to get Noah to wear his costume with  no trouble.  This year I had no doubt that not only would Noah wear his costume, but that he would really have some fun with the whole holiday.  I tagged along at school to see his trick or treating prep before the big day.

Put on your costume.  Check.

Walking with Miss L over to the big kid building for some trick or treating.

Momma, are you watching this? Time to do some knocking.

Trick of treat!  Get some candy in your bag.

Don't forget to say "thank you."  This trick or treating stuff is F-U-N.
